God is the Judge!
The Lord has the right over His creation to create the laws, punish the law-breakers, and reward the law-keepers. When Adam disobeyed God we are shown what God’s punishment is for disobedience: death. Scripture later reveals, especially in Romans 5, that Adam was acting as the head of the human race during that act of disobedience. Therefore, not only did he fall- but all of humanity fell with him. God created us in His image and likeness, but when Adam chose to sin he so marred the image of God in us that we are now sinners by nature (we are born with a tendency to love sin and hate God) and sinners by choice (that means we are not victims, but participants). Therefore based on our works we can never be worthy of reward, and we are worthy of condemnation from day one. What hope do we have of salvation? Only that the God we have so angered by our sin would come and die to pay the price for that sin.

God is the Creator
God is the Creator! In the beginning there was nothing but God. God made everything there is out of absolutely nothing! He spoke the words, “let there be light” and then there was light. He created everything in the same way: speaking them into existence. There is much debate over when and exactly how God created the world, but the Bible is much more interested in telling us about who created everything and why He did it. The Lord is the Creator and He did it for His glory. The pinnacle of His creation was when He created man: male and female. This was much different than any of the other creation. He said only about men and women, “let Us make man (humanity) in Our image.” Being an image bearer means we are like God and we represent God. Man has the unique privilege of having the capacity to be in a relationship with the Creator God.

God Has Spoken!
“All Scripture is God-breathed…” The God who is so awesome and high above all creation has chosen to speak to us! We would have been left in the dark, groping around, searching for the answers to the most important questions of life: who is God, who am I, and what is the meaning of life? But God has spoken flooding our lives with light that we might know about Him- and not just about Him but also know Him. The place we will find His revelation of Himself to us is the Bible, which we may also call- “God’s Word”. Because this is God’s word to us we should consider it the ultimate authority of our lives, we should trust that what it says is absolutely true, and we should be encouraged that our awesome God desires for us to know Him!

Foundational Fuel
Foundational Fuel is a sermon series that teaches the foundational and worship stirring truths about our great God! The hope is that as we look at God's Word together He will help those who are new to gain an understanding of the big picture of who God is and remind those who have been around for awhile how awesome our God is. As we look at these dynamite truths, the Lord is sure to ignite a passion for His glory in the hearts of those who have yet to trust Him, rekindle a life of worship in those whose passion has grown dormant, and provide fuel to the fire that already rages in the hearts of many!
